13834 Lake Avenue
Historic Lakewood Landmark

Built in 1925, this Regency colonial is classic "Clarence Mack" style.
During his 40 year career as a design architect, Mack built many Lakewood homes, most of which are located on Lake Avenue.  13438 Lake Avenue was his 14th.
Three and one half stories.  Clean lines.  Full floor to ceiling windows.  Unassuming staircase. Minimalist trim work.  A signature diversion from many of the more elaborate 'Rococo' styles of the day.
Often referred to as "the Library House," this Lakewood landmark was first immortalized as a feature home in the May 1926 issue of
House and Garden Magazine.

Clarence Mack.  From the sensational exterior and through the signature double doors to the vestibule.  The grand open lobby  conveys an extraordinary first impression.

Formerly the servants quarters, an in-law suite (now an exercise area) has a full kitchen, granite powder room and full bath with steam room.  Excellent as an 'au pair' suite.  Extra first floor laundry.  Maple floors.  Elevator.

Mack's characteristically large but unadorned foyer is now granite and lit by Murano glass sconces replacing the original candle lights.
